What do you think of the Citroen DS3?
It's time to downsize from my Passat 1.8T, but what should I buy? The Golf GT is too big and the Polo GTI only comes as an automatic. So I'm looking at non-Volkswagen cars such as a nearly-new Citroen DS3 1.6 THP, but I'm not sure I really want to pay extra just for style. Any suggestions for a small reliable car with a bit of performance (but not so much that my wife won't want to drive it)?

The Citroen DS3 1.6 THP 150 is not just about style, it's about the way the car drives and handles, and I got 45mpg. The DS3 has been hugely successful in France, and the DS4 is also selling very well judging by the numbers on the roads in France. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/citroen/citroen-ds.../
