Can you recommend a car with light steering for an arthritis sufferer?

Could you recommend the best car for someone who is registered disabled with severe arthritis who has limited power in her arms? Her present car is an automatic with power-assisted steering, but she finds it heavy and would like to buy a different model that would be easier to drive. She has been looking at several replacements but really could do with an independent expert.

The lightest steering of the lot is in a small Fiat after pressing the 'City' mode button, and these are available with Dualogic automated manual transmissions. Ford Focuses and C-Maxes have driver programmable assistance to the steering that can be set to provide three different levels of assistance. On some VAG cars the level of assistance can be re-set by the dealer via the OBDII diagnostics port.
