Should I pay my parking fine?
Recently while shopping at the Castlegate Centre in Huddersfield I overstayed what is alleged to have been a maximum parking period. I have received a notice and photograph by post. I can only assume that there are notices stipulating the time, but the shopkeeper tells me that the best way to avoid the fine is simply not to pay it. Is the fine enforceable?

It depends on the legality of the notices. Last year 550,000 people failed to pay excess parking charges, court proceedings were begun against 849, 49 actually went to court and the parking enforcers won 24 cases. Those are the odds.
