My Skoda Superb's fuel economy is excellent.

We recently bought a Skoda Superb 1.6 TDI. My wife and I went away for the weekend and, on our return home on 1 April 2012, emailed friends regarding the 71mpg showing on its fuel meter. One of our sceptical friends immediately rang me commenting on my April Fool's Day joke. A great car, well worth considering.

The Real Life Fuel Economy Register average is 54.8mpg, as you will eventually find, which is still good for a big car. But adding your one trip figure will alter the average upwards, slightly. www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg.
