Is the Mercedes-Benz C180 Kompressor a suitable replacement for my Omega?

My much-loved Omega 2.5 has finally gone to the knacker’s yard. In the hope of getting a car as quiet and gentle on the suspension for our third world roads I am considering a 2007/57 Mercedes-Benz C180 Kompressor saloon. I remember you mentioning that the 2007-onwards models are far superior to the previous version, however an 1.8-litre engine, even supercharged, seems very small for such a large car with an auto gearbox. Would you recommend this car with this engine?

No, that was the W211 E Class that was improved enormously from 2006/56 reg. I also mentioned that I thought the W204 C200CDI Classic SE manual was the only car I had driven recently that felts as if it would be capable of 1,000,000 miles over 10 years. That's not 1,000,000 miles in 20 years or 30 years. I meant 1,000,000 miles in 10 years. Big difference because a car that does 100,000 miles a year hardly ever gets cold.
