What's the point of automatic braking?
As someone with more than 50 years driving experience I am appalled at the thought of handing over control of my vehicle to Automatic Emergency Braking. The driver is responsible for the car and should therefore have absolute control over it. The introduction of AEB will encourage more reckless driving, as the irresponsible drivers will abandon caution on the basis that the AEB will take care of matters. If a hazard jumps up in front of me I want do not want the option of taking avoiding action denied because the computer has slammed on the brakes.

See the video below. In it, I stand in front of a moving car with AEB that (for liability reasons) Ford does not claim will stop for a pedestrian. But, as I proved, it does.
