I was recently driving along a newly resurfaced road which had loose chippings on the surface. A couple of motorbikes in front of my car were zipping stones up from their back tyres and one of the chippings cracked my windscreen, leaving an 8-inch break. If the Government is serious in its desire to drive down the cost of car insurance, a quick and easy fix would be to stop local authorities road surfacing in this way.
