Is Vauxhall's Car Accident Scheme worth using?

Vauxhall has contacted me about a free Car Accident Scheme who, should I have an accident, I am advised to call before contacting my insurer. I would value your advice please.

These schemes are supposed to keep you and your car out of the hands of 'accident management' scoundrels and credit hire crooks. Their purpose is to ensure properly repaired crash damage to a standard that franchised dealers could sell, which is the reason for their interest in them.
