Keeping an Ecoboost turbo healthy?

We are thinking of buying a car with a Ford Ecoboost engine. This, I understand, is a petrol engine with a Turbo.

In the past you have recommended that people driving diesel turbos should allow the car engine to run for a few minutes at the end of a journey to allow the turbo to cool.

Would the same advice apply to these engines as well?

Your help will be appreciated.

Yes. Even though petrol turbos are water-cooled they can get very hot so it is advisable to run them for 30 seconds to a minute before switching off. Do this after ascending a hill, after towing, after driving on the motorway, or after driving at speed.
