Can you turn of daytime running lights?
I recently purchased a BMW 320i SE which has daytime running lights which I am told by the dealer that you cannot turn off. I understand why you might need these while you are driving but they remain on while stationary and cannot be turned off if you want to, for instance, listen to the radio while waiting to pick someone up. Do you know of anyway of turning these lights off?

Read the Driver's Manual. It's usually irritatingly complicated which is why I leave mine on. On a modern car designed for economy you cannot sit in the car engine off listening to the radio. This uses too much battery.
