Who is liable to repair these faults?

I recently bought a second car and on my receipt it states three months warranty. On contacting the dealer he now says it is on major components only, I didn't receive a booklet or small print on the warranty. Is this legal?

The rear brake pads were down to metal, damaging the discs, the clutch release bearing is howling and the exhaust front pipe [housing the cat and d.p.f.] mounting bracket is broken off the pipe and the fixing missing from the gearbox. What is the procedure now?

The dealer himself is liable for all of these faults which were present on the car when purchased. He must either repair them all to your satisfaction or take the car back and give you your money back. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
