Metallic or non-metallic paint?

I've placed an order for a new Audi Q3 TFSI, but need advice regarding paint. I’ve been given two choices: Brilliant Black (gloss black, non-metallic, no extra cost) or Phantom Black (pearlescent black, £525). Will the pearlescent paint likely to be harder wearing against the elements? And in your experience, which paint is likely to age better in years to come?

The gloss black non metallic will probably have a thin clearcoat of lacquer, but will be very difficult to keep clean and shiny (it's the most difficult colour). So probably worth paying the extra for the pearlescent black.
