Intermittent electric fault on Vauxhall Corsa

We’ve got an intermittent electric fault on our 2008 Vauxhall Corsa. The problem is sporadic, but results in the failure of the dashboard and lights. I’ve had a diagnostic test carried out, but it didn’t find anything wrong. What’s the fault?

Reads like a failed or detached earth strap to the dashboard components.
