Audi TT leaking exhaust fumes into cabin - what's the fault?

My 2012 Audi TT started to leak exhaust gasses in to the engine bay/cabin after just nine months of ownership. After seven months and numerous visits to my dealer, the problem persists. Is there a known fault with the 2.0-litre diesel engine in the TT, or is the problem in the turbo/manifold/down pipe assembly?

Reads like the result of a blocked EGR as a result of repeated short runs from cold. Will not be anything to do with the injector recall because this was for earlier VAG TDIs.
