Bought a dud Mazda 6 - what are my options?
I have recently bought a used Mazda 6 from a dealer with three months warranty, but after taking it for a service with a local dealer they advised car needs £4990 of work doing and is in a dangerous state.
I returned the car to the garage and asked for a refund, but was told they will not refund my money or fix the car. I have since had the car fixed by another garage, but feel ripped off. What should I do?

Obviously, there was never £4990 profit in this car for the dealer. The dealer should have taken it back and refunded your purchase price and you should have held out for that rather than had the car repaired. But if you can prove the dealer absolutely refused either to refund your money or to repair the car you have a case. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
