Should we order our new Nissan Navara with 20-inch wheels as the dealer suggests?
We are about to change our Nissan Navara for a new one with the Renault 190 BHP engine. We use the vehicle to tow a fifth wheel caravan/motorhome and do no off-road driving other than some small sites where all access is by way of grass. The supplier has suggested 20-inch rims with 50-profile tyres. I have to agree that they look great but will ride quality be compromised, and will potholes become a problem? Would there be an alternative recommendation to the standard 255/65/17 wheels if you think that the suggested rims are too large?

Renault 190bhp engine? Is that the V6? I thought it was 235PS. Was unaware it had been detuned for the Navara. 20-inch rims would be the worst thing you could possibly do to this vehicle and if the supplier is suggesting them then you need to find a different supplier who isn't such an idiot. It's a pick-up, not a boulevard cruiser. Stick with standards 16-inch or 17-inch wheels and deep profile tyres.
