Ford Fiesta won't start on cold mornings

A colleague's 2009 petrol Ford Fiesta refuses to start on cold mornings. The battery is fine as lights and radio work OK, but it just won't start. However, once it's going and warmed up it'll run fine. Do you have any idea why this might be, and what could solve the problem?
