Can I disable my car's daytime running lights?
My new Skoda Octavia Elegance has the option to disable the daytime running lights. This is achieved very easily via the vehicle set-up menu and described in the owner’s handbook. My question is: is this legal?
There is an abundance of information on the web about the requirement to fit DRL but only hints about whether they must be used if fitted.

Yes, you can. But if you have a crash that could be attributed to your car not being seen you could be held liable by your insurers who would have to pay the thirst party, but might not pay you.
