I've repaired my Range Rover's coolant leak but am getting oil pressure warnings - why?
My 1998 Range Rover suffered the dreaded coolant leak from the porous engine that the V8 became well known for. I had a new engine fitted with top hat liners to cure the problem, but now after 80,000 miles it seems the problem is back and it failed a gas test on the coolant.
I tried a product called "Steel Seam" and this seems to have worked with no loss of coolant, but now the oil pressure light comes on after a long run, but only after the revs drop below 1000. Why would this be? I changed the oil and filter as recommended, and I know that there is the correct amount in the sump. I don't understand why the pressure would drop to put on the warning light. Any ideas?
