Which winter tyres for my Mazda MX-5?

I have a 2007 Mazda MX5. I need to fit winter tyres. Steel wheels? Can you recommend a good set of tyres for my car and the wheel size?

16-inch steel wheels with 205/50 R16 tyres, or get a set of 16-inch alloys from www.tyremen.co.uk for £335 inc. Continental WinterContact TS 850 currently seem to get the best reviews.
