Why don't we use 'herringbone' car parks in the UK?
My son, living in California, has told me that, not only are car parks mostly herringbone there, but the regulations state that the spaces are "drive in, reverse out" and that cars reversing out have right of way. All of which would help the situation where one is unable to safely get out of a space.
