My spare wheel doesn't match the others on my new Megane Hatchback - should it?
Could you please advise? Last Wednesday I took delivery of a pre-registered (31/1/2013) Renault Megane Hatchback fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels and Continental Contisport Contact 205/50R17 tyres. When I collected the car, the spare wheel, which I'd chosen as an option, was missing. The dealer eventually said they'd found one but when I checked I found it is a steel rimmed wheel with Michelin 205/55R16 tyre. Surely the spare should match the other wheels?

Probably not these days. If you specified a space saver or emergency spare what you got was correct. But if you specified a matching spare wheel it was not correct.
