Why is the 2.8i BMW Z4 £9000 more expensive than the 2.0i?
I recently purchased a very low mileage 5-month-old BMW Z4 2.0i M Roadster Auto from a BMW dealership for £23,000 which I thought was good value. However I find it a little underpowered and wish to perhaps upgrade to a similar age and specification Z4, but with the higher-powered 2.8i engine. To my surprise I have found that one of these, on the same UK BMW website, would set me back over £32,000. Could you explain the where the £9000 extra is justified?

The price difference between the base 2.0i and base 2.8i was not that great (these are both now 4-cylinder engines). But the 2.8i on offer might have been heavily accessorised. It's not hard to spend an extra £10,000 on goodies for Z4s. See www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/bmw/z4-2009/
