Should I buy a manual or automatic (torque converter) Mercedes-Benz SLK200?
I am looking at Mercedes-Benz SLK 200s on offer at www.cargiant.co.uk. There is a 31,251 mile 2010 manual at £13,499 and a 14,871 mile 2010 automatic at £16,799. Would you consider this a better buy than the 2010 manual at £2300 more but at less than half the mileage? Is an automatic more likely to give trouble than a manual?

The automatic is torque converter, so less likely to give trouble. The manual will eventually need a clutch, but maybe not until 100,000 miles or more. Manuals are significantly cheaper to buy than autos, but also have to be cheaper to sell, so you don't lose or gain. Depends whether you prefer driving a manual. I'd rather have one. But women generally prefer autos, and they are the main market for SLKs.
