Why do car reviews focus so much on "connectivity"?
Recently I read a road test that devoted an astonishing amount of column inches to "connectivity" ie the facility to play an iPhone, MP3 player, or similar through the car's ICE system. So far as I am concerned, the first thing about a car is the engine, then the suspension, then the steering and so forth. The a/c or climate control is much more important than the ICE system, surely? Or is it that I am a silly old fart, out of touch with the modern world?

No, what it means is that you attend to driving your car and do not concentrate on fiddling with a "connectivity" touch-screen, which is likely to land you in the back of the car in front and liable for some genuine whiplash claims.
