SEAT Alhambra and Volkswagen Sharan - which is narrower?

I have seen the SEAT Alhambra is more than 10 centimetres narrower than the Volkswagen Sharan, even though both are considered the same car. Why is this?

They are exactly the same. One has been measured with the mirrors out and the other with the mirrors retracted. One one has been mis-measured. Or the old model measurement is being quoted against the new model measurement.
