Where can our 19-year-old daughter obtain temporary car insurance for eight weeks?
My daughter has been insured for one of our cars since she started driving. She's now 19 and has held her licence for two years without a claim or any offences, and is at University so only drives when she comes home. This summer the car she is insured for will not be available to her. We have another but it is too expensive for us to insure her for a year (Mercedes-Benz CLK220) and really we only need insurance for a maximum of eight weeks. Companies that offer short term insurance will only do so if the person is at least 21. Do you know of any way in which we could insure her for this period?

Sorry, no. But check the temporary insurers in the insurance section of useful websites on this website. They may not all be so restrictive.
