Handbrake stopped working on Renault Scenic

The handbrake on my Renault Scenic has stopped working after my wife pulled it in whilst driving along. Now the brake symbol flashes and it doesn't work. Can you help?

Presumably you mean the electric parking brake. We can't tell you what's wrong from this. If the calliper motors have failed they are at least £600 a side. But if she's just fused it then you may only need to replace a fuse.

My handbrake keeps going tight and then loose. It seems to hold without much problem, but the issue is getting worse. Any ideas?
