Will my warranty remain valid?
My wife has just bought a one year old Hyundai i20 auto from a Vauxhall franchised garage. The car has 12,300 miles on the clock. It was service at 10,145miles by a Hyundai dealer on 24 January 2014.
The Vauxhall dealer serviced the car before sale at 12,284 on 5th March 2014, using Hyundai Parts, (Oil filter and Oil change). The Hyundai owners book "Recommends" service by Hyundai dealers. The car was advertised with "4 years remaining warranty".
Will there be any problem in using the warranty? Your response to a question in 2009 under the heading "Under cover operations" says that work must be done by a Hyundai dealer to keep the warranty. Has the situation changed in 5 years?

This doesn't make a lot of sense. If the car was serviced on 4-1-2014 by a Hyundai dealer it didn't need servicing again before resale this month. As long as the Hyundai service is documented and the completely unnecessary Vauxhall service isn't then I foresee no problem as long as you have it serviced again by Hyundai before 24-1-2015.
