Bought a used Audi and discovered it needs £2k of work - what are my rights?
I paid a £500 deposit on an Audi A6 2.7 diesel Avant with 57,000 miles on the clock. I asked if the car could be taken to an Audi specialist nearby for a pre-purchase check, but they would not allow it for insurance reasons. However, they assured me that it had "been through their workshop" and had a new MoT.
I picked the car up last week and traded my old A6. I told them I will have it checked. I took it to a nearby garage for an inspection and they have identified over £2000 worth of work that needs doing. I would be very grateful for your advice

Well you've been stiffed, haven't you? They refused to allow you to have the car tested before you bought it and now you have discovered £2000 of problems that pre-existed your purchase. So you can tell the garage that either they undo the deal, give you your money back and give you your A6 back, or they fix all the problems with the car.
