New car damaged on deliver

In January this year I bought a brand new Peugeot 207cc. I paid a £500 deposit in October last year with my credit card and paid the balance a week before it was delivered in January. To cut a long story short, this car I bought was involved in an accident whilst being delivered to me.

I found this out later, but the delivery driver is in denial and I have started a chargeback on the credit card. Peugeot are not interested in the slightest and the garage I bought the car from has offered me nothing. What can I do?

If the dealer hired the delivery driver then the dealer is responsible. Under the 2008 Consumer Protection regulations the dealer who sold you the car was legally obliged to make you aware of the damage. So you sue him for the 'diminution of value' of the car as a result of the damage (which presumably was repaired, you didn't say): www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/

Obviously if you hired the driver to deliver the car from the dealer to you, then the matter is between you and the driver.
