Car damaged by uninsured driver - what should I do?
Last week someone drove the wrong way up a dual carriageway and hit five cars, one of them my daughter's. The police were involved and took the drunk driver into custody. My daughter reported the accident to her insurance company but they say they cannot pursue the other driver's insurance company because they say he has not reported the accident to them.
We’ve tried calling the police, but they refuse to answer my daughter's phone calls asking them to help. Is there another route my daughter can go down that doesn't involve a claim on her own insurance?

The police have to give you the drunk's name and address because he has to give it to you and also has to give you his insurance details (if he has any). You can then sue him directly, or instruct your insurers to.
