Can you suggest a good 4x4 for £1800?
I am in search of a good 4x4 for a family of four. I have £18000 to spend and need a car capable of tackling a farm track each day and trips to Cornwall (500 mile round trip), three times a year.
I am not one who enjoys haemorrhaging money on cars so electrical and bodywork issues have to be something of the past if it can be helped. Can you suggest a good 4x4 for £1800?

Not for £1800, no. It's pot luck. Maybe a Nissan Terrano II, a Shogun or a Pajero, but for this sort of money you are more likely to be buying trouble than getting a long term reliable 4x4.
