Buying a used Nissan Elgrand
We are thinking of buying a 1998 Nissan Elgrand 3.2 diesel automatic. It has been converted to a camper which is what we are looking for. (weekends away with our 2 young children) The milage is 93,000. The asking price is £8999.
Until now I hadn't heard of the Elgrand. I understand it is an import from Japan.
Is this a car worth considering?
I would appreciate any advice you could offer.
Very many thanks.

It's Nissan's equivalent of the Mazda Bongo and Toyota Granvia. We haven't covered it. These cars really need to be bought from import specialists who are familiar with them and who carry stocks of at least a few parts. They are exported at a stage of life where it would be more expensive to get them through the 7 year Japanese 'Shaken' test than to sell them off for export.
