Diesel Mondeo won't start when warm, yet ok from cold
I own a diesel Ford Mondeo (2006) and I have an engine fault light on permanently. I have been told I have an EGR error - rate too low. I recently had the turbo replaced (which is running okay), but I now have a turbocharger error - boost pressure signal implausible.
My car starts from cold first time, every time and is ready to drive away. When its been running for only five minutes or so and then stopped it takes more turnovers to start, and the battery warning light stays on with the engine held at a lower idling rate - and I can't drive away. Eventually the idle speed steps up to normal revs, the battery light goes out and I can drive away.
Worst of all, if the car has been driven for longer and the engine temp is anything more than a third towards normal temperature, then it will not start. I have to wait 30 mins plus before it will start. any ideas?
