Mercedes - warning lights ESP/BAS

Dear John
Re: Mercedes e320 plate: EJ51

What is the significance of the warning indicator Esp and BAS? Our local garage has run the checks on his computer and found nothing wrong. yet these warning lights flash almost continuously now. We have had glow plugs replaced. Friends have told us this problem is not uncommon with Mercedes. but what is the significance and the solution? Thank you in advance for your advice/ help.
Kind regards Rosie

It means the car will fail its MoT. If not a wheel sensor, it could be that the problem is cause by a failed brake pressure sensor inside the ABS/ESP module and that would also affect the Brake Assist System. I'd contact the specialists www.ecutesting.com to ask if they've heard of this and can fix. They devised a sensibly priced fix for the ATE Teves Mk 60 ASB/ESP module that was otherwise costing a lot of Golf owners £2,000 a time.
