My 2003 Citroen C3 failed its MoT due to broken coil springs - should I discuss the fault with Citroen?
I have just had my 2003 Citroen C3 fail it's MoT due to broken front springs. There are approx 46,000 miles on the clock and I bought the car secondhand in 2006 from a major car supermarket, where I was told that it had had only one owner. The springs are about to be fixed, and I have been reading about the recall on the C3 for this problem. My car isn't going to a Citroen garage and I was wondering if I should discuss the problem with Citroen or the dealer, or if I should expect this kind of damage?

It's nothing to do with the dealer. Check with Citroen over the recall you mention, but this is pretty standard for all makes and models of cars fitted with European manufacturers' coil springs for various reasons. It's partly the way the springs are made and seated, and mostly UK speed humps and potholes.
