Need an electric car - which model is cheapest to run?
I own a 2003 Volkswagen Golf which has been fantastic. It has done 183,000 miles with no problems until the latest MoT, when the track rod ends, ball joins and gaiters failed. It has averaged 52mpg over its life and the only other costs apart from servicing were new pads and discs at 120,000 miles.
I now want to change the car for something electric as I only do 6000 miles. Is there anything out there that will compare to my Golf and be cheap to run?

A Renault Zoe already does the job, although the lease cost of the batteries is quite high, from £70 a month.
If you cover no more than 100 miles per day and have easy access to a charging point at home or work, then an EV is ideal for you.
