Need a van like car - what do you suggest?
I've been driving a series of Volkswagen Caravelle window vans for the past few years, but now want to downsize to a Caddy Life or Mercedes-Benz Citan. To confuse the issue, we are also tempted by the Touran.
The car will be used for work and will have to carry lots of equipment and people. All of the above seem to cost about the same, just under or just over £20,000 when you add some measure of comfort and convenience. What do you suggest we buy?

I'd add a Ford Tourneo Connect five-seater to your list. A Caddy Maxi Life is probably the biggest but rear seat folding and removal is not as simple as with the others. A Citan is, of course, really a Renault Kangoo and built at the same factory, but quality has improved.

Based on your advice, I purchased a used Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.6 petrol, which has given me many years of excellent service. However, the van is now getting a little tired.

Is the Volkswagen Caddy van worth its premium price? I drive Fiat Doblo for work which is comfortable enough and okay to drive. A Caddy would be double the money. Is it worth that extra on monthly payments...
