What are the best tyres for a Volkswagen Golf?

It is time to replace the Michelin Energy Saver 205 55 R16 91V tyres on my Volkswagen Golf. Factory fitted from new, they have done 34,000 miles. Can you recommend anything better? I would consider an all seasons tyre, and have heard that the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons tyre are good.

For tyre life and economy, no. For other reasons, yes, but you will lose out on economy and tyre life. Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons are good in snow and can stay on all year round.
