Sports car hire questions

I am trying to arrive at a shortlist for a change of car. I am currently considering a Volkswagen Golf GTI; Golf R and BMW 328i.

It's not much of a problem to arrange a short, salesman-accompanied test drive for most cars, but many dealers are reluctant to let cars out for the half-day or so which I need to make a proper assessment.

I am prepared to shell out for hiring one of the above, or something similar which interests me but I can't find anywhere to hire from. Can you help?

We have a FAQ of outfits that hire out sports and performance cars, though you will probably have to search around a bit to find precisely the right cars: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/hiring-a-special-car/
