Does warranty work carry a 2 year guarantee?

I bought a second hand (2011) Volkswagen Golf 1.4 petrol DSG last year. It was trouble free until a few months ago when it was recalled to change the gearbox oil. It now occasionally shudders when I am starting off or climbing a hill. It does not do it all the time but enough to cause concern.

It has done just 13,500 miles and the dealership have had it in and undertaken a free of charge software update, which they say is sufficient. But I am still not convinced as it still judders occasionally and I am losing faith in it.

A mate mentioned that any work by VW on any part of the car has a two year warranty on it. Does this mean I have recourse to Volkswagen if the DSG fails in the next two years? Should I keep taking it back to them until I am happy?

It might need a new clutch pack. But no. No work done under warranty carried any warranty longer than the original warranty on the whole car.
