Does my Audi 2.4 cabriolet take VW500 or VW505 engine oil?

I have a 2003 Audi 2.4 petrol cabriolet that needs oil. I found a 5 litre can of Shell Helix Plus 10w/40 in a blue container. My handbook says it uses VW 500 oil but this is VW 505. Does this make a difference?

I think that's the wrong oil anyway, never mind the possibility that it might be contaminated.
