Volkswagen Golf suffering from clutch judder

I have recently purchased a 2012 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDi with 18,000 miles on the clock. Since driving it regularly I have noticed significant vibration through the clutch (particularly in lower gears). When the engine is in idle, I can feel a "pulse" if I gently tough the clutch pedal.

I have just had it into the local dealer who informed me it has a solid clutch (not DMF) and hence it is engine vibration that I can feel and it is normal. They did however agree to change the clutch but it's not much different.

I love the car apart from this and it is irritating the hell out of me. Is this normal?

The fact that it does not have a DMF is quite a good thing because failure of that results in a £1000 bill. The vibration is a consequence. But also worthwhile having the engine mountings checked.
