Clutch life expectancy on a Mitsubishi L200 - how long?
I own a L200. Leased from new, 5 year lease, 3 year warranty. at 27000 and less than 2 years old the Clutch has gone and needs replacing. Dealership says new clutch required at £900 as it's a wear and tear item which I understand. However my point is that surely the life expectancy of a clutch is more than 27000? I've not even had it 2 years! Does this mean that in another 2 years I will need another clutch?
Have spoken to Customer services who won't budge and are giving me the standard answers.

Few manufacturers warrant a clutch beyond 6 months for the simple reason that a determined driver could destroy one in 15 minutes. But if it's the dual mass flywheel rather then the clutch that has failed, then the supplying dealer has a case to answer.
