Best 4x4 for £15k?

I want to buy a small 4x4 for everyday use for about £15k. I commute about one hour a day, with some motorway driving. I also want to use the car for holiday touring, with decent economy. What should I buy?

The best new small 4x4 is unquestionably the FIAT Panda Cross TwinAir at £15,995 (not the diesel): www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/fiat/fiat-panda-cr.../

For comfort, the best is a used Honda CR-V on 17 or 18-inch wheels (not 19s: the ride is too hard). For sportiness either a Ford Kuga or a Mazda CX-5 or a Skoda Yeti 1.8TSI 4x4.
