How long are spare parts made for cars that are out of production?
How long does a motor manufacturer have to continue to provide spare parts for? I heard 10 years after the production of the car ceased. I'm having a problem getting a spare part for a 9-year-old Citroen Picasso, but Citroen say they cannot source the part anywhere in Europe. The supplier no longer makes it and the car stays off the road.

10 years, but supply does not have to be off the shelf. There can be a considerable wait until parts are re-manufactured in batches.
