Faulty SEAT Ibiza - what are my legal rights?
My local SEAT wants me to pay £960 to remove the engine and diagnose why the timing chain jumps, before they will discuss any compensation for the damage incurred.
The dealer has already charged me £120 to do a compression test. It is a 1.2 Ibiza TSi with complete service history and has only covered 27,509 miles. Surely this cannot be right, what are my legal rights?

You don't say how old it is. But if the car was bought and serviced by the same SEAT dealer and is currently with them and is less than six years old you could try threatening Small Claims County Court action against them for the cost of fixing the engine: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
