Kia Cee'd road noise

I have a Kia Cee'd, 1 spec, 1.6 diesel, 62 reg, with 15-inch wheels and do 7,000 miles a year. I am thinking of changing to a Kia Cee'd, 2 spec, 1.6 petrol, 14 reg, with 16-inch wheels. Reasons for changing, concern over DPF and road noise. Do you think the petrol would be a better car for me and would 16-inch wheels reduce road noise or is this noise caused by the heavier diesel engine?

Road noise will probably increase with 16-inch wheels because they have wider, lower profile tyres. Not a lot of reports of DPF problems with KIA/Hyundai 1.6 CRDi, so I'd stick with it.
