Vauxhall Zafira DPF issues

I recently had a problem with the DPF on my 2007 1.9 CDTI Vauxhall Zafira, which resulted in dealership recommending a full replacement DPF part.
I sourced a new aftermarket replacement part which Vauxhall fitted for me.
The car was returned and 4 days later the engine management light re-appeared and car went back in to 'limp mode' state. I took the car back to dealership who advised that DPF filter had blocked up. Car had down less than 200 miles on new DPF. To my surprise, dealership stated that they would need to conduct a manual regeneration to clear out the blockage and proposing to charge me a further £69 for the latest work. More to the point, they advised me that I should allow for a regeneration every fortnight by driving a minimal period of half an hour at 2,500 RPM. Your advice please?

You dumped an aftermarket part on the dealer so have to take the consequences. Could be that this DPF is not up to standard and does not respond to the ECU's pre-programmed active regenerations. Could be (unlikely) that the dealer is being difficult because you landed him with an unproven aftermarket part. What you should have done is had the original DPF cleaned out by the Ceramex process for about £300.
